Stock market update: FMCG stocks  down  as market  falls

NEW DELHI: FMCG shares closed lower in the Wednesday’s session.

Tasty Bite Eatables Ltd.(up 2.05%), Vadilal Industries Ltd.(up 1.44%), Jyothy Labs Ltd.(up 0.95%), Nakoda Group Of Industries Ltd.(up 0.55%), Dangee Dums Ltd.(up 0.44%), Procter & Gamble Hygiene & Healthcare Ltd.(up 0.13%) and Nestle India Ltd.(up 0.05%) stood among the top gainers.

Parag Milk Foods Ltd.(down 3.21%), Emami Ltd.(down 2.45%), Patanjali Foods Ltd.(down 2.11%), Godrej Consumer Products Ltd.(down 1.99%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.84%), Bikaji Foods International Ltd.(down 1.83%), Heritage Foods Ltd.(down 1.75%), Dabur India Ltd.(down 1.68%), Zydus Wellness Ltd.(down 1.60%) and LT Foods Ltd.(down 1.50%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 460.35 points down at 21571.95, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 1628.01 points at 71500.76.

HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 1.32%), SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 0.88%), LTIMindtree Ltd.(up 0.64%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(up 0.61%), Infosys Ltd.(up 0.54%), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 0.49%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd.(up 0.37%), Titan Company Ltd.(up 0.26%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(up 0.07%) and Nestle India Ltd.(up 0.05%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 8.44%), Tata Steel Ltd.(down 4.09%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 3.7%), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(down 3.34%), Axis Bank Ltd.(down 3.29%), Adani Enterprises Ltd.(down 2.8%), ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 2.71%), UPL Ltd.(down 2.4%), JSW Steel Ltd.(down 2.37%) and Bajaj Finserv Ltd.(down 2.31%) closed in the red.
