NEW DELHI: FMCG shares closed higher in the Friday’s session.

Honasa Consumer Ltd.(up 2.48%), Parag Milk Foods Ltd.(up 1.19%), Umang Dairies Ltd.(up 1.06%), Tasty Bite Eatables Ltd.(up 0.96%), AWL Agri Business Ltd.(up 0.70%), Bajaj Consumer Care Ltd.(up 0.46%), Varun Beverages Ltd.(up 0.41%), Emami Ltd.(up 0.31%), Prataap Snacks Ltd.(up 0.20%) and Bikaji Foods International Ltd.(up 0.07%) stood among the top gainers.

Hindustan Foods Ltd.(down 2.62%), Britannia Industries Ltd.(down 2.42%), Nestle India Ltd.(down 2.12%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories Ltd.(down 2.05%), Patanjali Foods Ltd.(down 1.95%), Euro India Fresh Foods Ltd.(down 1.95%), Marico Ltd.(down 1.79%), Zydus Wellness Ltd.(down 1.79%), Colgate-Palmolive(India)Ltd.(down 1.71%) and Gillette India Ltd.(down 1.70%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 12.5 points up at 24346.7, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 259.75 points at 80501.99.

Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(up 4.16%), Bajaj Finance Ltd.(up 2.65%), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(up 1.75%), State Bank of India(up 1.44%), Reliance Industries Ltd.(up 1.24%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(up 1.22%), Tata Motors Ltd.(up 1.21%), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(up 1.2%), ITC Ltd.(up 1.05%) and Tata Steel Ltd.(up 0.79%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, JSW Steel Ltd.(down 5.5%), Britannia Industries Ltd.(down 2.42%), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 2.41%), Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 2.33%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 2.28%), HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(down 2.15%), Nestle India Ltd.(down 2.12%), NTPC Ltd.(down 1.73%), Cipla Ltd.(down 1.59%) and Shriram Finance Ltd.(down 1.23%) closed in the red.
