Shares of Reliance Power surged 2.7% to hit an intraday high of Rs 46 on the BSE on Monday, September 29, after the company announced the sale of its Indonesian step-down subsidiaries.

The rally came in response to a stock exchange filing detailing the strategic divestment.

The company disclosed that it has entered into a Share Purchase Agreement with Biotruster (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. for the sale of its entire 100% equity stake in six Indonesian subsidiaries, including PT Avaneesh Coal Resources and PT Heramba Coal Resources.

Though these subsidiaries contributed nil income in the last financial year, they accounted for Rs 16,909 lakh or 0.53% of Reliance Power’s consolidated net worth.
