Hi, I’m Neha Vashishth and welcome to ET Market Watch, your daily podcast, where we break down the biggest market moves in just a minute.

It was a classic Friday plot twist on Dalal Street.
After drifting through a dull session, the Nifty and Sensex staged a dramatic late-session comeback, bouncing 500 and 175 points from the day’s lows and sealing their fifth straight day of gains.

What flipped the mood?
Counting trends signalling a clear win for the BJP-led NDA in Bihar.
That one cue was enough to jolt sentiment back to life.

By the close, the Sensex ended up 84 points at 84,562, and the Nifty added 36 points to settle at 25,916.

PSU banks and pharma stocks powered the final-hour rally.
Among the top gainers: Trent, BEL, Eternal and SBI, rising up to 2%.
Meanwhile, Tata Motors PV, Infosys, Tata Steel, ICICI Bank, Tech Mahindra, UltraTech Cement and ITC slipped 1–2.5%.

On the IPO front, Billionbrains Garage Ventures, the parent company of Groww, stayed in the spotlight, surging another 8%.
That’s now 48% above its IPO price, and 30% above its listing price in just two days.

Expert View:
MarketSmith India says early NDA majority trends hint at policy continuity — a positive for markets. Expect a bit of noise in the short term, but the focus quickly shifts back to earnings, central policy cues, macros and fiscal discipline.

Global Markets:
Weak.
A hawkish US Fed crushed hopes of a December rate cut, pulling global indices sharply lower from Tokyo to Paris to London. Tech stocks dragged down benchmarks on Wall Street. The Nasdaq fell 2.29%, the S&P 500 slipped 1.66%, and the Dow was down 1.65%.

Oil prices rose nearly 2% as crude exports were halted at Russia’s Black Sea port after a drone strike. Brent is at $64.25, WTI at $59.99.

The Indian rupee closed at 88.74 per dollar, expected to stay range-bound between 88.40–88.95.

This is Neha Vashishth, and you’re listening to ET Market Watch.
We’ll be back with more market action.
