The Department of Meteorology says showers will occur at times in Eastern, Northern and Uva provinces while several spells of showers will occur in North-central province.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in other areas of the island after 1.00 p.m.
Fairly heavy showers above 50 mm are likely at some places in Ampara, Batticaloa and Badulla districts and heavy showers about 100 mm are likely at some places in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle and Matara districts.
The public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
