Polycab India, the country’s largest manufacturer of wires and cables, today announced its results for the third quarter ended December 2024, posting an 11% YoY jump in its PAT at Rs 463.3 crore.

Following the update, Polycab India shares were trading 6.5% lower at Rs 6,137.35 on the BSE.

The company on Wednesday announced its financial results for the third quarter and nine months ended December 31, 2024, reporting its highest-ever revenue, EBITDA, and PAT for both periods.

In the third quarter of FY25 , the company’s revenue reached Rs 5,226.1crore, marking a 20% YoY growth while the EBITDA for the quarter stood at Rs 719.9 crore, a significant 26% YoY increase.

For the nine months ended December 31, 2024 (9M FY25), the company achieved revenue of Rs 15,422.5 crore, representing a 24% year-on-year (YoY) increase. The EBITDA for the same period grew by 12% YoY, while the PAT was up by 5% YoY.

Segment-wise, the Wires and Cables (W&C) segment grew 12% YoY this quarter, with strong cable demand but slower wires sales due to lower copper prices and high starting inventory. The international business excelled, achieving 62% YoY growth and contributing 8.3% to revenue. EBIT margins rose 120 basis points QoQ to 13.5%, supported by normalized wires margins and higher international contributions.The FMEG (Fast Moving Electrical Goods) business posted strong 45% YoY growth on a low base, driven by strategic execution and robust demand across major categories. The fan segment sustained growth through successful premiumization, while lights and luminaires rebounded with significant growth after several weak quarters. Festive demand and strategic initiatives boosted performance, with switchgears, conduit pipes, and switches also seeing healthy growth, supported by real estate demand.The company’s other businesses, mainly comprising the EPC business, achieved 111% YoY growth this quarter, reaching Rs 457.3 crore, driven by strong order book execution.

Polycab India has also outlined its growth aspirations for the next five years, aiming for revenue growth in its W&C business to be 1.5x of market growth in core segments, with EBITDA margins expected to be in the range of 11-13%.

The FMEG business is projected to grow 1.5x to 2x of market growth, with EBITDA margins anticipated to be 8-10%. The company has also guided for a strong cash flow generation, with a capex outlay of Rs 6,000-8,000 crore and a dividend payout ratio exceeding 30%.
