Shares of Ashok Leyland Ltd.(up 4.05 per cent), Bharat Forge Ltd.(up 3.1 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 1.57 per cent), Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(up 0.77 per cent) and Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(up 0.7 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 1.01 per cent), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 1.0 per cent), TVS Motor Company Ltd.(down 0.94 per cent), Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(down 0.35 per cent) and Exide Industries Ltd.(down 0.34 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.67 per cent up at 26426.55.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 1.25 points at 24836.1, while the BSE Sensex stood up 23.12 points at 81355.84. Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 25 ended in the green, while 25 closed in the red. Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, PNB, Bandhan Bank and IRFC were among the most traded shares on the NSE. Shares of Ester Ind, Robust Hotels, Technocraft Ind, Voltamp Trans and Vishnu Prakash R Punglia hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Brightcom Group, Bohra Industries, Spandana Sphoorty, Compuage Infocom and Focus Lighting hit their fresh 52-week lows.
