Shares of Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(up 3.54 per cent), Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(up 3.44 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 2.07 per cent), Tube Investments of India Ltd.(up 1.88 per cent) and Bharat Forge Ltd.(up 1.88 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Bosch Ltd.(down 1.46 per cent), MRF Ltd.(down 0.87 per cent) and Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 0.24 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 1.27 per cent up at 18593.7.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 215.16 points at 21453.95, while the BSE Sensex stood up 689.76 points at 71060.31.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 41 ended in the green, while 9 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, South Indian Bnk, Indian Railway Fin and NHPC were among the most traded shares on the NSE. Shares of IFCI, Trans & Rectif, MTNL, Manaksia Aluminium and Avonmore Capital & hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while ideaForge Technology, Orient Bell, Astec Lifesc, Rajratan Global and Blue Coast Hotel hit their fresh 52-week lows.
