Shares of Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(up 5.16 per cent), Tata Motors Ltd.(up 4.96 per cent), Bharat Forge Ltd.(up 4.93 per cent), MRF Ltd.(up 4.03 per cent) and Apollo Tyres Ltd.(up 2.47 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 1.22 per cent), Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 0.48 per cent) and Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 0.12 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 1.66 per cent up at 23114.1.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 34.81 points at 24414.4, while the BSE Sensex stood up 105.71 points at 80746.78.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 25 ended in the green, while 25 closed in the red. Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Welspun India, Suzlon Energy and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE. Shares of Bharat Seats, BSE, Reliance Naval & Engg, SRF and Aster DM Health hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Karda Const, Godha Cabcon & Insul, GI Engineering, Ind-Swift Labs and AGS Transact Tech hit their fresh 52-week lows.
