Shares of TVS Motor Company Ltd.(up 3.87 per cent), Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(up 3.18 per cent), Exide Industries Ltd.(up 3.04 per cent), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 2.98 per cent) and Bharat Forge Ltd.(up 2.64 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 1.22 per cent), Bosch Ltd.(down 0.83 per cent) and MRF Ltd.(down 0.79 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 1.7 per cent up at 24937.6.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 304.96 points at 24297.5, while the BSE Sensex stood up 874.94 points at 79468.01. Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 41 ended in the green, while 9 closed in the red. Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Zomato, HFCL and Reliance Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE. Shares of BASF India, Rajdarshan Ind, TBZ, Adhunik Industries and Balu Forge Ind hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Fusion Micro Finance, Focus Lighting, Shrenik, IndusInd Bank and Spandana Sphoorty hit their fresh 52-week lows.
