Shares of Punjab National Bank(up 2.59 per cent), Bandhan Bank Ltd.(up 2.23 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 2.14 per cent), Federal Bank Ltd.(up 2.06 per cent) and Axis Bank Ltd.(up 1.6 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 0.56 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 1.08 per cent up at 44360.15.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 177.5 points at 19689.85, while the BSE Sensex stood up 566.97 points at 66079.36.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 45 ended in the green, while 5 closed in the red.
Shares of Infibeam Avenues, Vodafone Idea, Indian Railway Fin, JP Power and Zomato were among the most traded shares on the NSE. Shares of N K Industries, Adhunik Industries, Guj Mineral Dev., Uniinfo Telecom Serv and Ajmera Realty hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Themis Medicare, Baid Leasing, Accuracy Shipping, Winsome Yarns and Rajesh Exports hit their fresh 52-week lows.
