Shares of Federal Bank Ltd.(up 2.61 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 0.65 per cent) and Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(up 0.13 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Axis Bank Ltd.(down 1.51 per cent), HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 1.48 per cent), State Bank of India(down 1.48 per cent), IDFC First Bank Ltd.(down 1.29 per cent) and Bandhan Bank Ltd.(down 1.23 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.96 per cent down at 51778.3.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 30.21 points at 24479.05, while the BSE Sensex stood down 73.04 points at 80429.04. Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 23 ended in the green, while 27 closed in the red. Shares of Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, YES Bank, IRFC and NHPC were among the most traded shares on the NSE. Shares of Gravita India, EMS, TBZ, Sonam Clock and Indian Hume Pipe hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Nakoda Group Of Ind(PP), Shrenik, Filatex Fashions, Emcure Pharmaceutica and Lancor Holdings hit their fresh 52-week lows.
