Shares of Gland Pharma Ltd.(up 0.81 per cent), J B Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 0.8 per cent), Cipla Ltd.(up 0.3 per cent) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(up 0.14 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Granules India Ltd.(down 2.95 per cent), Mankind Pharma Ltd.(down 2.46 per cent), Alkem Laboratories Ltd.(down 2.23 per cent), Laurus Labs Ltd.(down 2.08 per cent) and Biocon Ltd.(down 1.67 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.6 per cent down at 20256.55.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 92.21 points at 22460.3, while the BSE Sensex stood down 217.41 points at 74115.17.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 13 ended in the green, while 37 closed in the red. Shares of Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, YES Bank, Zomato and Tata Steel were among the most traded shares on the NSE. Shares of Nitiraj Engineers, AXISCADES Engg Tech, Reliance Naval & Engg, California Soft(PP)and Steel Cast hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Nagarjuna Fertilizer, Hindustan Media, AAA Technologies, Zodiac Clothing and AMD Industries hit their fresh 52-week lows.
