Shares of Ipca Laboratories Ltd.(up 1.55 per cent), Pfizer Ltd.(up 1.42 per cent), Natco Pharma Ltd.(up 1.24 per cent), Lupin Ltd.(up 0.34 per cent) and Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 0.11 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Laurus Labs Ltd.(down 5.52 per cent), Cipla Ltd.(down 3.37 per cent), Biocon Ltd.(down 2.2 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences Ltd.(down 2.12 per cent) and Abbott India Ltd.(down 2.11 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 1.3 per cent down at 17532.55.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 101.36 points at 21352.6, while the BSE Sensex stood down 359.64 points at 70700.67.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 16 ended in the green, while 32 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, NBCC , Infibeam Avenues, YES Bank and NHPC were among the most traded shares on the NSE. Shares of Biofil Chem, Emmbi Industries, Malu Paper Mill, Oswal Agro Mill and Shemaroo Entertain hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Nxtdigital, Lords Chloro, Medicamen Bio, Navin Fluorine and Rajratan Global hit their fresh 52-week lows.
