Stock market update: Fertilisers stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Fertilisers shares closed higher in the Wednesday’s session.

Sikko Industries(up 5.50%), Aries Agro(up 2.08%), ZUARIAGRO(up 1.16%), Fertilizers & Chemicals Tranvancore(up 1.05%), Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers(up 0.94%), National Fertilizer(up 0.93%), G S F C(up 0.90%), Deepak Fertilizers & Petrochemicals(up 0.58%), Nagarjuna Fertilizers & Chem(up 0.57%) and Madras Fertlizers(up 0.41%) stood among the top gainers.

Khaitan Chemicals & Fertilizers(down 2.20%), Coromandel International(down 1.97%), KRISHANA(down 0.41%), Madhya Bharat Agro Products(down 0.39%) and Rama Phosphates(down 0.26%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 121.5 points up at 19811.35, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 393.69 points at 66473.05.

Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(up 4.16%), Wipro Ltd.(up 3.28%), Grasim Industries Ltd.(up 3.18%), UltraTech Cement Ltd.(up 2.26%), Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd.(up 1.62%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd.(up 1.59%), Reliance Industries Ltd.(up 1.58%), Cipla Ltd.(up 1.46%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 1.19%) and NTPC Ltd.(up 1.18%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 1.28%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(down 0.56%), State Bank of India(down 0.55%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 0.52%), Coal India Ltd.(down 0.46%), LTIMindtree Ltd.(down 0.41%), Adani Enterprises Ltd.(down 0.38%), Tata Steel Ltd.(down 0.27%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(down 0.13%) and Infosys Ltd.(down 0.05%) closed in the red.
