Shares of Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.(up 2.48 per cent), GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 1.17 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(up 1.1 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 0.86 per cent) and Alkem Laboratories Ltd.(up 0.55 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Gland Pharma Ltd.(down 2.74 per cent), Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.51 per cent), Granules India Ltd.(down 0.59 per cent), Lupin Ltd.(down 0.52 per cent) and Cipla Ltd.(down 0.26 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.19 per cent up at 17413.2.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 141.25 points at 21658.6, while the BSE Sensex stood up 490.97 points at 71847.57.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 27 ended in the green, while 23 closed in the red.
Shares of Reliance Power, Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, JP Power and HFCL were among the most traded shares on the NSE. Shares of Inventure Grwth, Almondz Global, Kothari Prod, Brooks Labs and Reliance Power hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Raj Rayon, Azad Engineering, IndInfravit Trust, GIR Natureview and 3rd Rock MultiMedia hit their fresh 52-week lows.
